Keep checking back because in the next few weeks there [...]

Sleep Apnea and my CPAP Machine’s Inventor

You know, I’ve been skeptical about this therapy ever since I learned how it was discovered. Here is an exerpt from an interview with Colin Sullivan, PhD the inventor:
“Then, one afternoon we were setting up for a nighttime study on a patient with severe OSA who was scheduled for a tracheostomy. He was participating in [...]

CPAP and Buying New Cars

Sunday, December 16, 2007 22:16 No Comments

Okay, okay, I know that’s a stretch, but we just bought a late model Toyota Highlander and I don’t think I am going to sleep well tonight. I always have ‘buyer’s remorse’ after a major purchace, but that doesn’t mean I will not be using the cpap tonight…well, yes it does. I just can’t face [...]

To Sleep, Perchance to…Recover

Tuesday, October 9, 2007 15:13 No Comments

True, I have been drinking and smoking more than is healthy, but I’ve been clean for 48 hours and am feeling better than I have in 48 days. Or about that long anyway.
Suggestion: Make three lists…
List One: Time Wasters
List Two: Money Wasters
List Three: Health Wasters
See what items show up on all three lists and then, [...]

Sleep Apnea and Dizzy Spells

Wednesday, August 22, 2007 15:24 1 Comment

Well after another night of no cpap, I woke up this morning feeling so dizzy I could barely think. Not much alcohol last night, so that can’t be it. I went to Jack and bought two meaty breakfast burritos to see if raising the blood-sugar would help. It did a little.
And the dreams last night [...]

Giving CPAP Another Try

Tuesday, August 21, 2007 21:47 No Comments

Another strange day. I’ve cleaned my cpap and it’s ready for tonight. I’ve recanted my denunciation of cpap technology and am going to give it a try, even though J. says I am not snoring anymore. I still feel tired all day, and I don’t think it is because I sit in front of a [...]

Weird Science: CPAP ‘Blows’!

Monday, August 20, 2007 11:09 No Comments

Yep, I’m convinced the whole idea is bunk. The process of blowing air down your nose, into your lungs? Who came up with that? Acutally, the scientists down under who invented it were not even thinking of it as a long-term solution. They were planning on using the experimental technique as a tool to help [...]

CPAP Gas

Monday, August 13, 2007 21:48 No Comments

Yep, used the cpap last night and woke up with the worst gas I’ve had in ages. I mean real pain. Plus the red marks from the nasal mask all over my face.
Bottom line: I won’t be wearing the thing tonight. We’ll see if the sleep is any better…
